About Wendy

I have learnt so much about health and wellbeing during my long life, mainly as a result of experiencing the results of stress and trauma on my own body.

I have always tried to approach health and wellbeing from a natural perspective to support mine and my family’s health. Diving deeper into Nutritional Therapy, Mindfulness, Yoga and energy medicine.

Over this time I have accumulated so much knowledge and wisdom and have had some great teachers.

Above all I have learnt that we all have our own innate, inner wisdom that we just need to learn to tap into. We don’t always trust that we can find the answers for ourselves, sometimes it is hard when dealing with day to day life to tune into our intuition in this way.

Modalities such as Mindfulness and Restorative Yoga enable our bodies to be held in the present moment, allowing our nervous systems to self regulate. Regular practice, and sometimes longer immersion, can help to switch off our fight/flight/flee response and begin to start the rest/digest response.

I had an ultimate challenge to my health in 2023 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. This followed an extremely challenging few years looking after and loosing both my parents, two brothers in law, an auntie and my beautiful dog Sweep (all during Covid). During this time it was incredibly difficult to keep myself well and have time to practice, so I know first hand the practicalities of self care. I did use my knowledge during my year of treatment though, and have recovered well due to this. When I agreed on my treatment I also got support from Integrative practitioners to help me navigate a new world of Oncology and how to support myself naturally within this realm. No one is an Island

Yoga & Meditation

I discovered yoga during my search for stress relief when running my own business and was hooked. I also benefited from the meditation at the end. I found the perfect teacher in Ken, he was a Zen master and helped me to understand that you could not ‘empty your mind’ but merely observe your thoughts – what a revelation to me.

I went on to study foundation level 1 and 2 with the British Wheel of Yoga over 15 years ago. I’m currently studying 3 years with the Comprehensive Yoga Fellowship.  I have a special interest in Yin, Restorative, yoga therapy and trauma yoga which I will be studying in more depth.

My meditation journey took me to study mindfulness with the Centre for Mindfulness at Bangor University, North Wales and go on to complete their teacher training 2009. Mindfulness is not just about meditation, it is a way of being, and was such a valuable tool for me when I was struggling to maintain balance in my life.

I am learning more and more around Ayurveda, this goes naturally with yoga and a yogic lifestyle.  Ayurveda is a science in itself and a massive subject, but basically helps to develop daily routines (dinacharya) which help to support our health and wellbeing and nutrition to suit our individual mind and body type.
